Freely
adapted from the fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson, this
highly theatrical production uses a dreamscape of shimmering
ice and snow. The story is of two young friends, Gerda and
Kai, whose friendship is tested when Kai, pierced by silver
slivers of the Snow Queen’s evil mirror, follows a
heartless Queen to her Ice Palace. There, he is doomed to
spend eternity in a world devoid of human love and
compassion. Only the enduring love of little Gerda can save
him.
