Faye Clementine Nettles and sibling Willie Mae are a pair of
twisted spinster sisters living in the mythical town of Sugar
Bean, FL, near Disney World. It’s summertime and the living
is anything but easy as the cynical and frustrated Faye plots
her escape from the one-gator town via an alien spaceship,
which is due to return on the 20th anniversary of its original
close encounter with Sugar Bean. Their visitors are about as
wacky as they are. Like a page from the Weekly World News
brought to life, this true Southern Gothic comedy is an
improbable “swamp tale” filled with flying cats and flying
saucers, and sisterly betrayal.
