Award-Winning Plays from an Award-Winning Theatre
2007-2008 StageRead

Women of LockerbieTHE WOMEN OF LOCKERBIE
by Deborah Brevoort

April 29 & 30, 2008
7:30 PM in the RIDGE ART GALLERY
Tickets: $9.00

Loosely inspired by a true story, a mother from New Jersey roams the hills of Lockerbie, Scotland, looking for her son's remains that were lost in the crash of Pan Am 103.  Based on an actual event that occurred on December 21, 1988, 270 people from 21 countries,. including 11 people in the town of Lockerbie lost their lives when a terrorist bomb blew up the airplane.  In the age of post 9-11, this play gives powerful voice to a disturbingly contemporary anguish: how to a respond to suffering caused by evil.  Winner of the Silver Medal in the Onassis International Playwriting Competition.

"A moving, thoughtful exploration how grief changes over time."
The New Yorker Magazine
